Through funding support from ISOC’s Sustainable Technical Communities (STC) Grant Program, this five-day intensive training will empower 100 fiber technicians, ISP engineers, and ICT students with industry-ready expertise to bridge the skills gap in Kenya’s growing fiber optic sector.

The Fiber Mtaani Workshop, scheduled for April 7-11, 2025, in Nakuru County, will focus on real-world applications of fiber optic technology, covering:
✅ Fiber Optic Basics & Installation Techniques
✅ Overhead Fiber Structures & Pole Dressing
✅ Safety Training for Working on Power Lines
✅ Network Troubleshooting & Testing (OTDR, Power Meters, Splicing)
✅ Certification & Job Placement Support

The partnership with ISOC ensures that this program aligns with global best practices in internet infrastructure development, fostering a technically skilled workforce to support Kenya’s connectivity expansion.
